Self Portrait with Sharon, 1971
“I had never seen a picture of two women kissing and I wanted to see it. I borrowed a camera, butI didn’t even know anybody else I could ask to pose for it. So I held the camera out at arm’s length and kissed my lover, Sharon, and took the picture. That’s my first lesbian photograph.”
